Updated RhizoTrial Travel Policy

Greetings RCDP families. I hope all is well with everyone!

I wanted to let the RCDP community know that we have changed the process for arranging travel when participating in the RCDP Natural History Study. As some of you are already aware, managing travel logistics through our previous vendor was challenging. The clinical site (Nemours) was also becoming more involved than necessary, and requests for approvals were not being communicated clearly to Med-Life.

Our overall travel policy remains the same, which means that reimbursement limits and categories are identical to before. What is changing is that Med-Life Discoveries will now be handling all the travel logistics and reimbursements going forward. These changes have been approved by Nemours IRB, meaning that to access this service through Med-Life will require a new signed consent form, which can be done over the phone. We have also prepared a new travel manual which outlines the travel procedures that will be provided to you after your consent form is complete and your visit dates at Nemours are confirmed.

The whole purpose of this change is to make your travel experience as good as it can be, with no surprises, clear itineraries, and complete transparency of what is approved and reimbursable. For the next 4 weeks, anyone booking a Natural History visit and needing to travel will be working directly with either myself (Shawn), Tara, or Kaeli at Med-Life Discoveries. We are in the process of recruiting a full-time assistant who will eventually become the primary point of contact for all future visits.

For any travel-related inquiries as of August 24, 2021, please contact Nemours to sign the new consent form. You will then be provided our new dedicated travel email address.

Thank-you again for your participation in the study! We have had great enrolment to date. The data being collected continues to be crucial and a top priority for the therapeutic intervention phase.

Sincerely,

Shawn Ritchie, PhD
